If you have any questions about COVID-19, please feel free to call the Haywood County COVID-19 Helpline at (828) 356-2019. This line is answered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The hotline is not only for medical questions, but also questions relating to guidance, compliance, resources, and more. The state also has a 24-hour North Carolina Coronavirus Helpline at 866-462-3821.

Public Health Services (formerly the Haywood County Health Department), is responsible for assessing the health needs of the community, establishing health policies, identifying community resources to meet health needs, identifying threats to health, and providing health services. Public Health Services has a full time staff consisting of the Health Director, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, public health nurses, environmental health specialists, nutritionists, health educators, lab technicians, social workers, dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistants, and medical office assistants.
Our services include Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP), Child Health, Dental, Disease Testing and Tracking, Environmental Health, Family Planning Services, Health Education and Healthy Haywood, Immunizations, Physical Exams and Testing, Pregnancy and Prenatal Care and Education, and the WIC Nutrition Program.
Clinic hours: 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Evening clinics are available the 2nd Thursday of every month with appointments from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Call (828) 452-6675 to schedule evening appointments for annual exams, birth control, child health, lab testing, immunizations, and STI/STD exams, counseling and treatment.
Dental hours: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday.

No-Cost Diabetes Prevention Classes Beginning in October 2020.
Haywood County’s next round of Diabetes Prevention Program classes will begin on Tuesday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. DPP is a proven-to-work lifestyle change program for adults with pre-diabetes or who are at an increased risk for developing diabetes. Participants learn about preparing healthy meals, managing stress, losing weight, how to be healthy away from home and MORE. The program has no cost and will include prizes! Please call today.
