Storytimes and most youth programs will not be held in August – they will resume in September. The August break will allow programming staff time to plan.

You’re invited to view a photo exhibit of historic Haywood County photographs at the Waynesville Library during the months of August and September. The community’s assistance is needed to identify the people and places pictured. Images are from the Sherrill Studio Photograph collection at WCU’s Hunter Library and depict the region during the first half of the 20th century. Exhibit is in the North Carolina Room. The Friends Of The Haywood County Library will be holding a Bag Sale downstairs at the Waynesville Branch on Friday, August 26, Saturday, August 27, and Monday, August 29. The hours will be 10 am-4 pm. The number of people allowed in the book room at any one time will be limited. The prices will be $3 a bag or $5 for two.

Challenge and enhance your chess skills with chess instructor Bruce Goodwin. Basic knowledge of chess moves is desirable. This program is ideal for ages 8 and up. No registration is required. For more information, call 828.648.2924.
