  2. Youth Winter Reading Challenge

    Winter is upon us, which means it’s time for the annual Winter Reading Challenge! Pick up a BINGO tracking sheet from any branch and see how many fun tasks – such as reading while drinking hot cocoa or reading inside a pillow fort – you can do! The Winter Reading Challenge will run from December 1 to January 31. Turn in your completed BINGO sheet at the Waynesville or Canton branches for a free book and a chance to win the grand prize basket full of goodies!     The Library Board of Trustees meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Waynesville branch at 4:30pm. Meetings are open to the public. The Library Board of Trustees adopts written policies governing the operation, fines, programs, and book and material selection of the Haywood County Public Library system; determines purposes of the library and secures adequate funds to carry out library programs; assists in development of annual budget; and, maintains awareness and knowledge of local and state laws and actively supports legislation in the state and nation as they pertain to libraries. Authorities: North Carolina General Statutes 153A-261, 263, 265 and 266.
