[ARCHIVED] COMMISSIONERS TO ATTEND CELEBRATION OF MILESTONE FOR MV WATERSHED

A quorum of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners will be attending a celebration of a major conservation milestone for Maggie Valley’s Watershed on Friday, September 29 at 10 am at Maggie Valley Town Hall Pavilion, 3935 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC.

The purpose of the event is to celebrate the conservation of an additional 1,250 acres within the watershed, nearly tripling the amount of land protected by a partnership between The Conservation Fund, Maggie Valley Sanitary District, and many partners and landowners.  This is part of a multi-year effort by this partnership to protect Maggie Valley’s forested Campbell Creek watershed for drinking water quality and quantity, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation.

There will be no official Haywood County business conducted at this meeting.

For questions, please contact the County Manager’s Office at 828.452.6625.

This the 22nd day of September, 2023.
