NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

HAYWOOD COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS PUBLIC HEARING

TAKE NOTICE, that the Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at a Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Historic Courtroom of the Haywood County Historic Courthouse located at 215 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public input on the proposed Haywood County Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. The budget has been submitted to the governing board, and a copy of the proposed 2023-2024 County Budget is available for public inspection in the Office of the Clerk to the Board located in the Haywood County Historic Courthouse, Haywood County Public Library located at 678 South Haywood St, Waynesville and on the Government/County Budget page of the Haywood County website, www.haywoodcountync.gov, as well as linked in an item in the News & Highlights portion on the front page of the county website.

Persons wishing to be heard at the public hearing are asked to be present. The County Commissioners may adopt reasonable rules governing the conduct of the hearing including (i) fixing the maximum time allotted to each speaker, (ii) providing for the designation of spokesmen for groups of persons supporting or opposing the same position, (iii) providing for the selection of delegates from groups of persons supporting or opposing the same positions when the number of persons wishing to attend the hearing exceeds the capacity of the room, and (iv) providing for the maintenance of order and decorum in the conduct of the hearing.
