[ARCHIVED] Haywood County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Scheduled for April 1st, 2023

The Haywood County Solid Waste Department will be holding a spring Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, April 1st from 12 pm until 4 pm at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 278 Recycle Rd, Clyde. 

During this event, Haywood County residents are encouraged to drop off these household pollutants free of charge. Haywood County has partnered with Consolidated Waste Services and EcoFLo who will have representatives on hand to collect the following non pesticide items: 

The following items will be accepted during the Household Hazardous Waste event:

  • Aerosols
  • Mixed Solvents
  • Mercury & Articles
  • Pesticide Solid
  • Acid Cleaners
  • PCB Ballast
  • Paint Related Material
  • Lab Packs 
  • Latex Paint
  • Lead Acid Batteries
  • Alkaline Batteries
  • NiCad Batteries
  • Lithium Batteries
  • Propane (Grill and Camp Size)
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Oil Filters
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Antifreeze
  • Motor Oil, Kerosene, Diesel Fuel, Transmission Fluid, Hydraulic Oil

 Medications and pharmaceutical can be disposed of at year around collection sites located at each of the Police Departments and Sheriff’s Office.

 This event is only for Haywood County residents. Please don’t bring or drop-off items prior to the event. Early drop-offs could incur fees and fines.
