[ARCHIVED] Applicants Sought for ETJ Members of Maggie Valley Planning and Zoning Boards

The Haywood County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applicants for the Maggie Valley Planning Board and the Maggie Valley Zoning Board of Adjustments.

 

The Maggie Valley Planning Board has two vacancies and the Maggie Valley Zoning Board of Adjustments has one vacancy.   All three vacancies are for representatives from the Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of the Town of Maggie Valley.  

The Planning Board is an Advisory Board that aids the Maggie Valley Board of Aldermen in making decisions that involve adopted planning documents, land development codes, and the zoning map.  

The Zoning Board of Adjustment serves as the quasi-judicial body within the Town of Maggie Valley.  The Zoning Board hears cases for special use permits and variances, as well as hearing appeals from zoning interpretations made by the Town Planner. 

 Application forms may be downloaded from the “How Do I…Submit Volunteer Board or Committee Application” section of the county website https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/9/How-Do-I or picked up from the County Manager’s office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Haywood County Courthouse, third floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville.  

 Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager’s Office or attached to an email to Amy Stevens, Deputy Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, at amy.stevens@haywoodcountync.gov .

 Applications will be accepted through March 31. For more information, contact the County Manager’s Office at 452-6625.
