Proposals sought for services to court-involved youth in Haywood County
The Haywood County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council announces $76,114 in unallocated funds available for 2022-23 from the NC Department of Public Safety for services for juvenile court-involved youth in Haywood County. These funds will help the community meet needs previously identified during the annual planning process. The following types of services will be considered for funding:
Interpersonal Skill Building Experiential Skills Restitution & Community Service Mediation/ Conflict Resolution Temporary Shelter Parent/Family Skill Building | Substance Misuse Prevention/Education Mentoring Teen Court/Restorative Justice Services Juvenile Structured Day Home Based Family Counseling |
Services should target the following risk factors or needs related to delinquency or repeat delinquency: Risk Factors---Substance Abuse, History of Victimization,
Dangerous Sexual Practices Run Away from Home/Placement, Housing Insecurity, Serious School Behavior Problems and Mental Health. Needs- Negative Peer Association, Parental Supervision Skills, Family Substance Abuse, History of Family Criminality, Family Discord and Violence, Conflicts in the Home, Parental Supervision Skills.
Programs should be compatible with juvenile justice research, be outcome-based, have an evaluation component, detect and divert youth from gang participation, and integrating work ready skills will be given special consideration. Any local public agency, a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation and local housing authorities are invited to apply. In order to apply for FY 2022-23 JCPC funding, new programs must complete and submit an application online by accessing NC ALLIES. Applications are due to Patti Tiberi via email at ptiberi@mountainprojects.org The deadline is March 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. The Haywood County JCPC Allocation Committee will meet on April 6, 2021 at 10:30AM at the Haywood County Senior Center. The Allocation Committee will hear presentations from applicants and vote on expansion funding for programs for FY22-23.
