[ARCHIVED] Resolution Terminating State of Emergency - Winter Storm Izzy

     WHEREAS, a Proclamation of a State of Emergency for Haywood County and the Towns of Waynesville, Clyde, Canton and Maggie Valley was declared on January 15, 2022 to address responses to Winter Storm Izzy; and

      WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority contained in Article 1A of N.C.G.S. § Chapter 166A, Article 36A of N.C.G.S. § Chapter 14, and Chapter 31 of the Haywood County Code of Ordinances, Chairman L. Kevin Ensley of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the State of Emergency within Haywood County; and

      WHEREAS, the conditions of the winter storm have been appropriately dealt with and the state of emergency can be ended.

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:

      1.        As conditions warranting the emergency response to Winter Storm Izzy have abated, the need for a state of emergency no longer exists in Haywood County nor in the Towns of                                   Waynesville, Clyde, Canton and Maggie Valley.

     2.         The above-referenced Proclamation of a State of Emergency and all the restrictions and orders therein are hereby terminated effective 12:00 p.m. on January 20, 2022.
