[ARCHIVED] Applicants Sought for Region A Aging Advisory Council

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill four vacancies on the Region A Aging Advisory Council representing Haywood County.

The council meets quarterly at 10 am the first Wednesday of the second month of each quarter (February, May, August, November) at Region A, Southwestern Commission, 125 Bonnie Lane, Sylva, NC. (Note: meeting format may be affected by COVID safety concerns.)

The council is made up of community members from different counties around the region.  The committee identifies issues affecting aging adults, and makes recommendations about resources and programs.

Members ideally have a background in or awareness of services for aging adults and issues facing the target population in our community.

The Volunteer Board Applicant Form may be downloaded from the “How Do I…Submit Volunteer Board or Committee Application” section of the county website https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/9/How-Do-I or picked up from the County Manager’s office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Haywood County Courthouse, third floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville.  

Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager’s Office or attached to an email to Amy Stevens, Deputy Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, at amy.stevens@haywoodcountync.gov .
