AMENDMENT TO PROCLAMATION OF A STATE OF EMERGENCY
The following Proclamation is issued by the Chairman of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners:
WHEREAS, Governor Roy Cooper by Executive Order No. 227 declared a State of Emergency for the State of North Carolina on August 18, 2021, due to the Impact of Tropical Strom Fred; and
WHEREAS, a Proclamation of a State of Emergency for Haywood County was declared on August 17, 2021, due to imminent threat of injury and/or loss of life and/or property due to Impacts of Tropical Strom Fred in Haywood County; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the Proclamation was effective on August 25, 2021, to include a curfew for the “Affected Area” in pursuant to Chapter 31 of the Haywood County Code of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority contained in Article IA of N.C.G.S. § Chapter 166A,
Article 36A of N.C.G.S. § Chapter 14, and Chapter 31 of the Haywood County Code of Ordinances, I,
Chairman L. Kevin Ensley of the Haywood County Board of Commissioners finds that the conditions giving rise to a need for a curfew in the “Affected Area” have abated; and
WHEREAS the other provisions of the Declaration of Emergency remain necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:
- The aforementioned Proclamation of a State of Emergency amended on August 25, 2021 is hereby modified to terminate the curfew for the “Affected Area”, effective December 22, 2021.
- All other provision of the proclamation issued on August 18, 2021, are to remain in effect, unless rescinded pursuant to Chapter 31 of the Haywood County Code of Ordinances.
