NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING - PUBLIC HEARING
TAKE NOTICE, that the Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on
Thursday, May 23, 20 19 at 5 :30 p.m. in the Haywood County Courtroom of the Historic Courthouse at
215 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public input on the proposed Haywood County Budget
for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. The budget has been submitted to the governing board, and a copy of the proposed
20 19-2020 County Budget is available for public inspection in the Office of the Clerk to the Board and the
Finance Office, both of which are located in the Haywood County Historic Courthouse, the main Haywood
County Library located at 678 South Haywood Street, Waynesville, NC, and on the Haywood County website,
https://www.haywoodcountync.gov.

Persons wishing to be heard at the public hearing are asked to be present. The County Commissioners
may adopt reasonable rules governing the conduct of the hearing including (i) fixing the maximum time allotted
to each speaker, (ii) providing for the designation of spokesmen for groups of persons supporting or opposing
the same position, (iii) providing for the selection of delegates from groups of persons supporting or opposing
the same positions when the number of persons wishing to attend the hearing exceeds the capacity of the hall,
and (iv) providing for the maintenance of order and decorum in the conduct of the hearing.
