Haywood County reports 112th - 115th COVID-19 deaths
Haywood County Health and Human Services have received notice of four more COVID-19 deaths. Total COVID deaths in Haywood County are now 115.
The 112th death was an individual between the ages of 55-60 who died at Haywood Regional Medical Center on August 27, 2021. The immediate cause of death was septic shock. Underlying causes included COVID-19 and respiratory failure.
The 113th death was an individual between the ages of 70-75 who died at Haywood Regional Medical Center on September 4, 2021. The Immediate cause of death was acute COVID-19 pneumonia. The underlying cause of death was acute chronic renal failure.
The 114th death was an individual between the ages of 70-75 who died at Mission Memorial Hospital on August 20, 2021. The immediate cause of death was COVID-19 pneumonia.
The 115th death was an individual between the ages of 70-75 who died at John F Keever, Jr. Solace Center on August 26, 2021. The immediate cause of death was acute hypoxic respiratory failure. The underlying cause of death was COVID-19 pneumonia.
To protect the families’ privacy, no further information about the patients will be released.
“We at Haywood County Health and Human Services extend our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones during this time of loss,” said Health Director Sarah Henderson.
“COVID-19 is a serious and sometimes deadly illness. We ask everyone to consider the pain and loss this virus can bring with it and do everything you can to help prevent its spread.”
“We urge everyone to continue to be vigilant about masking and social distancing any time you’re going to be around people who are unvaccinated or in large group settings. Wash your hands regularly, and stay home if you’re not feeling well,” said Henderson.
