[ARCHIVED] HC Commissioners are seeking applications for the HHSA Board

Applicants sought for Health and Human Services Board

 The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill the following positions on the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency Board of Directors:

  • A psychiatrist member, to begin serving February 16, 2020.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate must be a physician licensed to practice psychiatry in the State of North Carolina, and must reside in Haywood County.  Qualified professionals are encouraged to apply.  The candidate will be filling a four-year term that expires February 16, 2024.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, if interested.
  • An optometrist member, to begin serving February 16, 2020.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate must be an optometrist licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina, and must reside in Haywood County.  Qualified professionals are encouraged to apply.  The candidate will be filling a four-year term that expires February 16, 2024.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, if interested. Second-term candidates will cycle off the Board, as members may only serve two consecutive terms.
  • A member representing the general public, to begin serving February 16, 2020.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate resides in Haywood County. The candidate will be filling a four-year term that expires February 16, 2024.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, if interested. Second-term candidates will cycle off the Board, as members may only serve two consecutive terms.

The deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020. Application forms may be downloaded from the “How Do I” section of the county website, www.haywoodcountync.gov; or picked up from the County Manager’s Office, Haywood County Courthouse, Third Floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager’s Office or attached to an email to Candace Way, Candace.way@haywoodcountync.gov.
