The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill one position on the Haywood Community College Board of Trustees, to serve a 4- year term. Upon completion of the term, appointees serving their first term are eligible to apply for reappointment to a second four-year term.
The Haywood Community College Board of Trustees is responsible for the development and governance of the college in accordance with the provisions of the law and the policies of the State Board of Community Colleges. The HCC Board of Trustees meet the first Tuesday of each month at 3:00 pm at the HCC campus. Applicants must be citizens of Haywood County in good standing. Appointees to the HCC Board of Trustees must comply with the requirements of House Bill 1843, the State Government Ethics Act. The Act mandates that individuals must complete the Statement of Economic Interest. The Statement must be submitted to the State Ethics Commission prior to individuals assuming their position on the Board of Trustees. HCC will coordinate with the appointee to assure this requirement is met.
The deadline for applications is Friday, April 11, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Completed applications may be returned to the County Manager’s Office or attached to an email to Haven Muse, Deputy Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, at haven.muse@haywoodcountync.gov.
